Many generations know Aretha Franklin as the Queen of Soul, but others may not know that her soulful voice started while she was a kid singing in church. Aretha's famous father, the Rev. C.L. Franklin made sure the super star-in-the-making gave praise to the Almighty every Sunday.
And as music careers go, Aretha began to sing secular music -- everything from the Blues, to Pop and R&B in what would become one of the greatest voices to ever sing.
Bottom line, whatever Ms. Aretha sang, she would always somehow take you right back to church.
