Fast Food Chains Are Hiring Senior Citizens

Remember when fast food chains like Burger King and McDonald's would hire teens to work? Practically every senior at my high school looked forward to getting out of school and going to work at the Golden Arches.

But times have changed. Now more and more fast food restaurants are hiring senior citizens, yes older people. Believe it or not there are far more jobs available in the fast food business than there are people to fill them. And let's face it, that retirement money just isn't covering the bills so a lot of seniors have to rely on a part-time job to make ends meet.

According to a Bloomberg report, some restaurant chains are recruiting seniors at churches, senior centers and AARP. So the next time you're in your favorite fast food restaurant and see a senior serving your food, give them a big smile and let them know how much they are appreciated.
