Bow Wow (real name Shad Moss) was arrested early Saturday morning (February 2) in Atlanta for battery.
The rapper reportedly assaulted a woman identified as Leslie Holden at 4:15am local time; however, as Atlanta’s WSB-TV 2 points out, both Moss and Holden "sustained visible minor injuries." Because of this, the police "were unable to determine the primary aggressor of the altercation, so both parties" were charged with battery.
Moss and Holden are both being processed and then taken to Fulton County Jail.
The 31-year-old rapper is from Columbus, Ohio, but currently resides in Atlanta. He had been promoting a pop-up shop run by his mom on Twitter during the days leading up to the arrest.
Last year, Bow Wow opened up about his addiction to lean, telling kids to "Stop with these dumb a** drugs" and admitting his "attitude everything changed" when he was high off of the dangerous mix of prescription strength cough syrup and soda. In fact, it almost killed him.
"Kick that s**t!" he urged fans. "Be a good son or daughter. Be the best you. Ima start being more vocal. We gotta save the youth from going out early. Parents watch your kids. Explain to them. We want yall to live man. I almost died f**king with syrup."
