President Trump: Jewish People Who Vote Democrat Show 'Great Disloyalty'

President Donald Trump accused Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar of hating Israel, and said that Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats show "a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty."

The president was asked if the United States should reconsider its policies with Israel after Tlaib and Omar were banned from the country for their support of the boycott, sanctions and divestment movement.

"I can't even believe that we're having this conversation. Five years ago, the concept of even talking about this, even three years ago, of cutting off aid to Israel because of two people that hate Israel and hate Jewish people," Trump replied.

The president then questioned what has happened to the Democratic party.

"Where have they gone that they're defending these two people over the state of Israel? I think that any Jewish people who vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty."

Democrats have historically had high support among Jewish voters. According to a study conducted by Pew Research, 79 percent of Jewish voters cast their ballot for Democratic candidates in the 2018 midterm elections. In the 2016 presidential election, 71% of Jewish voters voted for Hillary Clinton.
