He took his wife's last name? Would you?

Is this becoming a new trend? Or is this the new way to to disrespect a tradition?

Traditionally, when man and woman gets married, the woman takes the last name of her husband... Some women hyphenate the last name, keeping their maiden last name. Some feel hyphenating the name, means trust hasn't been built. But this new trend of the husband taking the name of the wife is a odd but new "thing"

What I would like to know is, who's taking the wifes' last name? and why? Lastly, what is the meaning of it all???
