New E-Tickets May Cause Long Wait At Bears Home Opener

Headed to the Bears game Thursday? Well if you are it is being highly suggested that you get there early - like, real early. Why? Because tomorrow is not only the season opener, but it is also the debut of the new e-ticketing system. No more paper tickets to get you in the game, everything will be electronic.

Now you would think that going digital would speed things up right? But not necessarily. With anything new there will be some kinks and technical issues so you want to give yourself enough time to get through the long lines so you can enjoy the game from start to finish.

Every fan will have to scan their ticket on their smartphone in order to enter Soldier Field. No exceptions. So if you are not that familiar with how to pull up the ticket, start practicing now so it will be smooth sailing come game day. In addition to the large crowds coming to the NFL's kickoff celebration in nearby Grant Park, there will be bigger crowds trying to get into Soldier Field for the game, so be prepared.

The parking lots open at 3:20 p.m. and the gates open at 5:20 p.m. so if nothing else there is plenty of time for a little tailgating before we hand Green Bay that 'L.'

Bear Down!
