Chicago Cubs Name David Ross New Manager

The Chicago Cubs have named David Ross as manager of the team. The cool part is that Ross was a former Cub and part of the World Series championship team, and he has 14 years experience playing in the MLB. In addition to being a former catcher for the Cubs, Ross was most recently a special assistant to baseball operations for the club.

But the decision to make Ross manager is not sitting well with some Cubs fans. Many think that he will just be a puppet, that management will use him as the front man, but they will actually be calling all the shots. I like the fact that Ross pretty much knows the team in and out being a former player and all, but he hasn't really had any managerial experience so I'm on the fence about it. Hopefully he'll shine in his new position though.

I guess in the upcoming months we will see how things go once he settles in his new role as manager and steps up to the plate -- no pun intended there.
