If For No Other Reason, Can The Strike End For Our Children?

It is now day 11 that thousands of Chicago Public Schools students have been out of school. This is becoming too much. I do agree with bargaining and fighting for what you want, especially when it benefits children and their education. However, this strike is going on a bit too long and reportedly there are new demands on behalf of the Chicago Teachers Union.

The CTU is proposing that they get paid for the days that they have been on strike and Mayor Lightfoot is not having it. She says that this is something new that has been brought to the table and the CTU is not compromising in good faith with all that has already been agreed to. The mayor wants this strike to be over and students back in class Friday.

Will students return to the classroom or will they enter week 3 of a school strike? Stay tuned.
