Be Careful Of Scams, Especially During The Holidays

Man, just be real careful and alert when you're out in the streets, especially now that the holidays are approaching because there are a million and one scams out there. I was at the car wash on Sunday and a guy came up to me and said he had some great music I needed to hear, so politely I told him I was in a hurry and I really didn't have the time at the moment to listen to anything. So he handed me a jump drive and I laid it on the seat as I vacuumed.

Thinking he was going to thank me and walk away, he just stood there and I asked him what was up and he said he was waiting for me to listen to it. Really? You want me to stop what I'm doing and plug in the jump drive and listen right then and there? Apparently he did because he did not move. So I took the jump drive off the seat and handed it back to him and told him I just couldn't. He was nice, took it back and moved on to the next person.

This is nothing new, people try to get you to listen to their music all the time, handing you a CD as you're on your way to work or whatever. But I never had someone hand me a jump drive to listen to their music and I thought what if I plugged it in, and he somehow downloaded some important info from my car or something? Or maybe the jump drive had a virus or anything could have gone wrong.

You never know what scams are out there. Be careful, don't let people borrow your phone, don't grab those papers people hand you or any thing that seems suspicious. I don't mind helping people out when I can, but at the same time I have to be cautious and know when a scam is a scam.
