Doja Cat Rants About Music Label Messing Up Her Lyrics

2019 BET Awards - Arrivals

Doja Cat is not in the mood to play with her record label. The viral sensation who took over our screens wearing a cow inspired outfit on a green screen is back with her sophomore album, Hot Pink. Artist features include Gucci Mane, Tyga, and Smino, so it was no surprise that fans raced to the internet to search for track lyrics.

Unfortunately, the words fans came across were not what Doja originally penned. The artist took to Twitter to express her anger over the “laziness” of her label.

"DO NOT GO TO APPLE FOR MY LYRICS DONT GO ANYWHERE ONLINE FOR MY LYRICS. ALL OF MY LYRICS ARE WRONG AND LAZILY WRITTEN BY MY LABEL.”

Instead, Doja Cat, responded to fans one by one answering questions on the validity of lyrics.

During an exclusive interview with iHeartRadio, Doja opened up about the new album being more of a reintroduction to the world for her.

“With this album, it's similar kind of to the last album in the sense that there's a lot of like, genre-mixing, but this one, it's more evolved and it's more aware. I feel like I'm more aware of what I'm doing musically in this one. You can really tell that everything is very complete. I'm just excited to put that out 'cause I'm super proud of it.”

The Mooo! singer allowed her artistic side to really shine through on this album.

“Hot Pink came from me, more of my visual side. It's [also] my favorite color. It's definitely a color that describes sort of passion, love, sex, anger and I feel like this project is that. I feel like all those emotions are that color. I felt like it was the perfect thing for this album.”=
