Whitney Houston, Notorious B.I.G. Will Be In The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

It's official and I'm on 10! Why? Because two of my favorite artists will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Whitney Houston is by far one of my favorite female artists of all time, her powerful vocals are unlike any other, and I spent many of my teen years in the bathroom mirror with a hairbrush in my hand pretending I was her, wailing at the top of my lungs to her songs.

Notorious B.I.G. is a lyrical genius -- point blank, period. His rhythm of rhyme and that raspy voice captivates me and the way he uses metaphors and words is amazing. I have been paying homage to Biggie Smalls throughout my radio career by mentioning his name whenever I play one of his songs. I promised his mother Voletta Wallace that I would continue to do so. It's such a shame that his, and fellow rapper Tupac Shakur's murders have not been solved decades after their deaths.

Other inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame include: Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, T Rex and Nine Inch Nails. The induction ceremony will take place May 2nd at the Cleveland Public Auditorium.

Special props to Rufus & Chicago's own Chaka Khan on their nomination, unfortunately they did not secure enough votes to be inducted at this time.
