Battle Between Chicago Public Schools And Teachers Union Continues

We have been in this pandemic for going on a year now, and let's keep it real -- some of our children are falling by the wayside as it relates to learning. But then we hear reports of surging coronavirus cases and the daily death tolls, and that is very concerning too. So the question remains: when will Chicago Public School students be able to return to the classroom?

There has been an ongoing battle between CPS and the Chicago Teachers Union. CPS has assured parents and teachers that there are stringent guidelines in place for the safety of students, teachers and staff. CTU members may go on strike to get their point across that they don't feel it is safe to return to school buildings during a pandemic.

As an instructor, I feel both sides. This is really a tough decision to make not only for CPS and CTU officials, but for parents and guardians as well.
