Still No Vote On Changing The Name of Lake Shore Drive

Man, what is going on with this changing the name of Lake Shore Drive? It seems like there is a lot of opposition to the change, and there was a heated discussion between Mayor Lightfoot and an alderwoman on an unrelated issue causing the City Council meeting to end abruptly. And yes, that put another delay on the vote again.

Wednesday was the day that the council was supposed to vote on changing the name of Outer Lake Shore Drive after Chicago's first non-native settler, John Baptiste Point DuSable. The new name would become DuSable Drive, from Hollywood to 67th Street.

There have been suggestions to name a park after the "founder of Chicago" instead, but that remains to be seen too. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday.
