Hundreds of Chicago Area Nurses Go On Strike Thursday

About 900 Chicago area nurses and staff at Cook County Health took to the picket lines Thursday after not having a contract since last November. The nurses are not feeling the lag in contract negotiations so they walked out -- for just one day, hopefully.

Strike breakers are being deployed and get this, they will actually reportedly make more than the regular nursing staff if they are needed. Really?

To all of the housekeepers, therapists, medical aides, clerks, food service workers, patient transporters and other staff, stay the course! You have worked tirelessly over the past several months on the front lines, risking your lives to save others. Thank you.
