Besides Britney Spears and Madonna, only a few other celebrities come to mind when using the phrase, "the kiss," and that includes Birdman and Lil Wayne.
The former opened about the smooth that went viral within the hip-hop community when he appeared on Revoltâs Big Facts Podcast, attributing the gesture to their father-son relationship. In fact, he did so when he feared he might not ever live to see another day. âI always looked at Wayne as my sonâŠâcause I was in the streets and I thought this might be the last time they ever see me, âcause I was living like that,â he explained during a recent appearance. âThatâs where that sh*t really started from. I thought that, every night I leave, I might not never come back.â
As you might recall, Birdman signed Weezy to Cash Money at the tender age of 12, which harks back to their specific bond. "I always today look at Wayne as my child," he added. âI was his father when he didnât have a father and I love him like my own and Iâd give my life for him and Iâd take a life for him.â
Birdman and Lil Wayne kissed on BETâs Rap City in 2002 and years later on 106 & Park. âIâm the only person he kisses,â he said during his appearance on the latter. âAinât no freaky sh*t, we just roll like that."
Tim Westwood also asked Birdman about the infamous kiss in 2009, to which he had a similar response. âThatâs my son,â he explained. âIf he was right here, Iâd kiss him again. I kiss my daughter. I kiss my other son. If you got a child, you understand. Iâll kill for him, ride for him, and die for him.â
