The extent of Patrick Mahomes injury

On Sunday morning, NFL insider Adam Schefter Tweeted that the Chiefs quarterback suffered a high ankle sprain. Schefter said that league sources told him that there wasn't any additional damage to the ankle, in terms of structure or broken bones. While a painful injury, it is a huge relief for the Kansas City Chiefs that this wasn't a more serious injury.

"MRI today confirmed that Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain during Saturday’s win over the Jaguars, per league source. “Nothing more than that,” said one source, and Mahomes has said he plans to play in next Sunday’s AFC Championship Game." -via #Adam Schefter
