Today Is Tax Day, Yup Uncle Sam Is Waiting

Time is ticking!

Today is tax day for just about every American and if you haven't filed those taxes yet, you have until midnight. But if you're one of those procrastinators you can request a six month extension to file, but if you owe you only have until midnight tonight. No excuses.

Now things are slightly different this year when it comes to filing your taxes and you may see the difference once you receive your refund -- if you receive one at all. This season is the first time taxpayers will file under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. This new tax code practically doubled the standard deduction to $12,000 if you're single ($24,000 for married-filing-jointly,) got rid of personal exemptions and limited all of those itemized deductions. Ouch.

Whether you file by midnight tonight or ask for the extension just know that it is always best to prepare to file your taxes every year. Come on man, we know that they are due every April 15 and that's probably never going to change.
