Chicago Keeps Getting Closer To Getting A Casino

Chicago is a step closer to getting a casino. It may take a while but the Illinois Gaming Board has picked a consulting firm to see if it is feasible to have a casino in Chicago. Well of course it is! The city didn't have to pay for a consulting firm to figure that out, they could have just asked me. I used to live in Vegas and I've been in and out of just about every casino on the Strip!

But in all seriousness, Chicago would be a perfect fit for a casino. There are lots of reasons why we should get one. It would generate revenue to help our impoverished communities and neighborhoods. A casino would produce jobs and resources and Chicago is a world class city and it would just be nice to have a casino here for entertainment purposes.

And here are some great locations for a casino in Chicago, as suggested by V103 listeners and myself:

  1. Navy Pier
  2. The old Post Office at Ida B. Wells
  3. 95th and Stony Island (the former Fun Town Amusement Park location)
  4. The old Kennedy King College location
  5. 87th Street and Lake Shore Drive (the new extension)
  6. The former Michael Reese Hospital location
  7. Anywhere downtown
  8. Near Northerly Island, behind the museum campus
  9. Washington Park
  10. Jackson Park

I'm not a gambler, but hopefully a casino will be approved for Chi City, and even then it will most likely be a few years before you can hit the slots.
