SMH At Rolling Stone's "Top 100 Greatest Singers of All Time" List

I have been thumbing through the pages and now scrolling through articles of Rolling Stone Magazine for years because it remains a great source of information about artists and the music industry. But fam, their latest list of the "Top 100 Greatest Singers of All Time" has me shaking my head.

First I will give props for listing the late, great Aretha Franklin as number one. That's truth. But placing Whitney Houston at number 34 blows me! What?! Whitney had one of the greatest, most powerful voices on the planet! And then Luther Vandross, who's voice was like none other, is number 54? Nah man. And how disrespectful to place Patti LaBelle at 95 -- out of 100? Really? Her range is crazy, even at 75 years old!

My girl Mary J. Blige rounds out the list, coming in at 100. I am a huge fan of MJB, but I would have thought Beyonce' would have made the list before her. No dis at all, I just think Queen B has more range, that's all. But Beyhive, what's the buzz around your girl not making the list at all? But if it makes you feel better, I'm sure if this was a list about the Top 100 entertainers of all time, she would be right at the top with Michael Jackson, who came in at number 25 on Rolling Stone's list by the way.
