Not only is it sad but it's so disappointing that there have been more than 550 car jackings in Chicago this year. That's Chicago alone, and doesn't even include the ones that have taken place in the suburbs or other areas.
And what is even more sad is that about 56-percent of the car jacking suspects are juveniles. Yes, kids as young as 9 to 11 years old are taking cars from people, sometimes brandishing weapons.
Nobody should be forcing themselves on vulnerable people who aren't expecting to be ambushed for their car and/or valuables, and children should especially not be involved in this type of criminal behavior. Maybe one day the government will see that if they put more money toward programs and plans that give people hope and dignity and a feeling of worth, then maybe some of this crime won't be happening.
