City Offers Cooling Centers During Extremely Hot Temperatures

Near record-high temperatures are expected again in the Chicagoland area and it is important to check on the elderly, those with disabilities and pets during this time. Actually check on all your loved ones and friends that you think may have some issues or problems in the excessive heat. Following is a list of cooling centers throughout the city where people can go to get cool and be more comfortable:

Englewood Center – 1140 W. 79th Street.

Garfield Center – 10 S. Kedzie Ave.

King Center – 4314 S. Cottage Grove.

North Area Center – 845 W. Wilson Ave.

South Chicago Center – 8650 S. Commercial Ave.

Trina Davila Center – 4312 W. North Ave.

Cooling centers are open weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. and visitors must wear a mask. There are other cooling centers located throughout Cook County as well.
