Those Were NOT Aliens in California Last Night

It was kind of like the X-Files, but not.

People hoping for an alien encounter probably thought they were getting an early Christmas present last night after a strange sight appeared in the skies over Southern California.  Turns out, it was another SpaceX launch... still cool, but very local and absolutely without aliens.  See video of the launch here.

Even though it was NOT the alien invasion, that didn't keep the internet from having some fun with the whole thing, including SpaceX founder Elon Musk who called it a "nuclear alien UFO from North Korea"... check out some of the funniest tweets here.

My favorite was from ESPN's Bomani Jones who said, "ppl too tense to be shooting rockets like that and not telling us first." For real tho.

As seen from SpaceX headquarters, Falcon 9 lifts off from Vandenberg AFB carrying 10 Iridium satellites to orbit. This marks the 18th and final launch of the year.
