What's Happening This Weekend

The Women’s March this morning was just about the biggest thing happening in town this weekend, but there are a few other things to keep you busy…

For sports fans, hockey is the game in town this weekend… tonight (Saturday), the Blackhawks host the NY Islanders at 7:30pm at United Center and tomorrow (Sunday), the UC hosts NCAA Hockey with Notre Dame facing off against Wisconsin at 2pm.

Don't miss the Congo Square Theatre's production of August Wilson's Tony award-winning play, Jitney... it's gotten great reviews and only runs for another few weeks at the Athenaeum Theatre in Lakeview.  Enjoy and support great African-American theater in Chicago and get your tickets here now.

Music fans... check out one of Chicago's best jazz musicians who you don't usually get to see in an intimate club setting. The Orbert Davis Quintet plays at the Green Mill tonight (Saturday) at 8pm.  Get more info here

For blues at its best, it's the last two weekends to catch Buddy Guy while he's in town playing at his South Loop club. Tonight's show is sold out, but tickets are still available here for tomorrow and next weekend's shows.

Vocal group “Chicago a cappella” performs with high school singers at the Youth Choral Festival Concert… if you like choirs and choral music, head to this hour-long finale to the festival at Logan Center for the Arts in Hyde Park at 5pm tonight (Saturday).  Tickets are only $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Have fun... and don't you ever let me hear you say you don't have anything to do!
