By now, you’ve heard about the latest stunt Kanye pulled this week… buying a photo of Whitney Houston’s drug-laden bathroom counter to use for an album cover for Pusha T. I guess that’s one way to live your “free” life.
There’s a different Kanye-adjacent story I’d rather talk about… a good one that’s only about remembering his mother’s legacy by helping Chicago’s kids use their creativity to thrive.
The mission of Donda’s House continues thanks to Rhymefest and Donnie Smith… but it’s been a bit of a challenge to do their work lately, with all the controversy and pain that Kanye’s rants have caused so many people. But they’re keeping on by continuing to raise money and find volunteers to keep their work going for the next generation of Chicago stars. If you want to help, there’s a volunteer meeting next Saturday morning at 10am at Dyett High School for the Arts.

Support Chicago and make it a safe, productive summer!
