Honor the survivors in your life on National Cancer Survivors Day at tomorrow’s 25th Annual Cancer Survivor’s Walk and 5K, organized by Northwestern’s Lurie Cancer Center.
I’ve participated in this walk for many years with my tribe to celebrate one of my dearest friends who survived uterine cancer and in honor of all those I’ve lost to this dreadful disease, including my cousin Denise who passed away 5 years ago today from colon cancer.
It’s a positive, life-affirming family affair that celebrates and brings together all those affected by cancer… survivors, families and friends plus the doctors, researchers and health care providers… because it takes a village to survive and thrive!
You can register onsite in the morning and the money raised goes to fund cancer research, develop treatments and therapies and train the next generation of professionals who just may find a cure.
The rain didn't dampen our spirits in 2015, but we welcomed back the sun in 2016! Will you be there Sunday? Online registration is closed, but you can still sign up to Walk starting at 8 AM in Grant Park! Counting down to the 25th Annual Cancer Survivors' Celebration Walk & 5K! #LurieCelebrates25 #ncsd2018 #nationalcancersurvivorsday
