For some of you (if you're lucky), it’s a 5 day weekend because of the 4th falling on next Wednesday and there’s lots to do between now and then… here are a few ideas:
Lisle’s Eyes to the Skies Hot Air Balloon festival runs through tomorrow at Community Park… 20 to 30 huge hot air balloons will take to the skies at 6pm tonight and again tomorrow early in the morning at 6am and again at 6pm, depending on the weather and wind speeds. You can get tethered rides throughout the day with fireworks tonight and tomorrow. It looks amazing!
Navy Pier’s first ever Chicago Soul Music Festival wraps up tonight with Grammy nominee Brandon Markell Holms and JC Brooks Band headlining. Head down for the music and catch the fireworks too. & It’s all free!
The Cubs are at home at Wrigley today and tomorrow facing the Twins, then check them out against the Tigers on Tuesday and Wednesday. All games are at 1:20pm. & It’s Hawaiian Shirt day on Tuesday!
Singer Tweet is in town performing tonight at Metro to celebrate Black Pride’s 20th anniversary weekend of events… wave your rainbow flags and have a blast!
And plan ahead now to celebrate the holiday with The 4th on 53rd Parade and Picnic in Hyde Park… you can decorate your bike or wagon to walk in the parade which steps off at 10am, then have fun at the festival in Nichols Park afterward.
Whatever you decide, have fun and don’t let me ever hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
