Today is the deadline to sign up for health insurance or change your plan through the marketplace made possible by the Affordable Care Act – also known as ObamaCare.
If you’re surprised to find that out and maybe wondering why you hadn’t heard much about it this year… there’s a reason. The budget to advertise the registration deadlines and information for the program was drastically cut by the Trump administration this year.
There was also a ruling by a judge in Texas yesterday (Friday) that says Obamacare is unconstitutional given new federal tax guidelines. However, this will NOT affect this year's registration or coverage. And it's almost a certainty that the ruling will be appealed.
Before all that happened, President Obama released a video earlier this week reminding everyone to get insured… check it out below.
To register, go online to healthcare.gov or call 1-800-318-2596 for help using the site.
