Elon Musk previewed a version of what will become his high speed underground transportation tunnel at his SpaceX headquarters last night.
This time, it was just a Tesla SUV driving at about 35mph on tracks in a test tunnel, but it’s supposed to be the precursor to 150mph high-speed, electric, self-driving vehicles transporting 16 passengers at a time underground.
The project is scheduled first for Los Angeles, but Elon's already started work on the Chicago version, as a super-fast way to get from downtown to O’Hare in minutes.
(For the record, he made Gayle King curse trying this thing out... so I’m still scared and will still be on the Kennedy or the Blue Line if this ever gets built.)
