Y’all remember Rachel Dolezal? The white lady who was passing for black while she served as a leader in the NAACP and taught African Studies at a local university in Washington. (BTW, she changed her name a couple of years ago to Nkechi Diallo.)
Well, she got a slap on the wrist in court last week… she was facing felony welfare fraud charges and avoided trial by agreeing to pay back almost $9000 from the benefits she received and perform 120 hours of community service.
Privilege is something else, isn't it? Even when you’ve convinced everybody else you don’t have it.
