What's Happening This Weekend -- Father's Day Edition (6/15)

Don’t make dad man the grill (unless he really really wants to!)… take him out to have some fun! Or leave the house and let him enjoy his castle on his own!

Juneteenth celebrations start today and run through the end of the month in honor of June 19th, the date many slaves celebrated their emancipation. Catch the parades, festivals and fun with all the details here from BlockClub Chicago!

Catch free fireworks at Navy Pier tonight at 10:15pm… their fireworks show happens every Wednesday and Saturday night. There are also lots of new features and fun this summer on the Pier, so make it a big night!

Puerto Rican Fest is happening in Humboldt Park this weekend… today, catch the parade at 2pm along Division from Western into the park and the fest is open today and tomorrow from 3-10pm each day. Admission is $5, kids under 12 are free.

If Dad likes baseball, the Yankees are in town facing the White Sox on the South Side… tonight’s game is at 6:10pm with fireworks after the game, and tomorrow starts at 1:10pm.

During the week, catch the opening of “Pride & Joy: The Marvin Gaye Musical” at Chicago Theatre Wednesday 6/19-Sunday 6/23. And catch Summer Soul at Promontory Chicago starring Tweet, Samoht & Dante Hall in 2 shows Thursday 6/20 at 6 & 9:30pm.
