Kevin Costner recently admitted to Entertainment Weekly that the iconic poster for The Bodyguard where he carries Whitney Houston in his arms isn’t what we thought it was… the woman he was carrying wasn’t really Whitney.
Apparently, when they shot the photo, Whitney had already left for the day and Whitney’s double took her place at the photo shoot.
The studio didn’t really go for it at first… mainly because it didn’t show Whitney’s face and they didn’t think they should promote the movie without showing the star’s face. They even tried to put Whitney’s face on her stand-in’s body but none of them really worked.
Costner says he picked the photo because it was the right image for the film… can’t find the lie there.
