It's a tragedy of epic proportions if you love wine... there was an incident at the Rodney Strong Winery in Sonoma County, California that ended with 97,112 gallons of cabernet sauvignon being spilled into the Russian River which flows into the Pacific Ocean.
There have been no reports of fish dying but experts say the acidity of the wine will likely kill off the insects that the fish feed on.
I did the math on the human impact and that amount of wine equals 490,145 bottles of wine. EEK! Even if I and over 1300 of my closest friends (on Facebook? ha!) drank a bottle a day, it would take us a year to finish off that much wine. LORDT, the LOSS! lol
