Illinois and Chicago entered Phase 4 of reopening yesterday… even though the week ended with reports of huge spikes in coronavirus cases in other states like California, Florida, Texas, and Arizona. Yesterday, Florida broke a record with almost 9,000 positive cases reported in one day.
Here's what reopening means for us:
Indoor seating at restaurants and bars can resume with limited capacity, as low as 25-50%. Those same rules apply for the reopening of retail stores, museums, zoos, recreational and entertainment venues like clubs, movie theaters and bowling alleys. Child care, schools and summer camps have gotten the go ahead to open as have gyms and other fitness centers. Casinos and video gaming will open on the 1st.
I don’t know if I’m ready for all that – I got a haircut and had lunch outside on Tuesday and that was enough for me for the week. We’ll see what I’m good with next week!
Whatever you’re ready for, STAY SAFE… wear your mask, socially distance and wash your hands often, no matter where you go or what you do. Let’s not let these numbers go back up like they have elsewhere. #staysafechicago
