The voting process and Election Day definitely won’t be business as usual, but it’s more important than ever to make sure your vote is counted.
We were talking last week about the cuts to the United States Postal Service operations and how that threatens getting mail-in ballots in… and this week, we’ve been seeing information on all our options to vote safely.
Here in Illinois, you can vote absentee (which is the same as getting a mail-in ballot) without an excuse and the deadline to request your ballot by October 29th. But experts are recommending you get them and mail them out as early as possible. Or you can request one and drop it off yourself at the drop boxes that will be located at early voting sites or the Board of Elections downtown.
Every state has different rules about mail-in ballots, for instance Indiana doesn’t allow the without an excuse and COVID-19 doesn’t count. Check out the link here find out more about your state's rules.
Whatever you do, get out and vote like your life depends on it… because it does.
