Today we’re celebrating new shows to look forward to that have loads of Black People Magic!
Congratulations to Laurence Fishburne and Jenifer Lewis… the co-stars of “Black-ish” have just signed a deal for a spin-off! The new show is called “Old-ish" and it will follow Dre’s parents, Earl “Pops” and Ruby Johnson as they get back together and give love and marriage a second chance. And original series creator Kenya Barris will be writing for this new show which will also air on ABC.
And the biggest tv news of the week… the Fresh Prince and the original Aunt Viv have made peace! Will Smith posted pics to promote the show’s 30thanniversary reunion show that will air on HBO Max… and it included one with Janet Hubert who has been REALLY outspoken over the years about how she felt wronged by Will and the show when they parted ways 27 years ago.
2020 is a year of surprises and I sure didn’t see that coming. But I’m glad they’ve made peace because that’s the best kind of magic you could ask for, especially in a year like this one!
