A couple of epic shoutouts this week for Black People Magic this week:
Negro League players will finally get their just rewards… Major League Baseball announced this week that their stats will now be included in their official historical records. Fans and baseball stat geeks are saying that it could change history and put legendary players like Josh Gibson, Willie Mays and Satchel Paige in their rightful place alongside others already in the history books.
And congrats to Chicago finance whiz Mellody Hobson, who just became the first black chairwoman of the board of Starbucks! She’s been on the board for over 20 years, advising Starbucks founder Howard Shultz and he said his “heart is full and thankful that Starbucks will have Mellody’s leadership as chair.” Go Chicago girl! Bet you feel better about sitting in the drive thru now! LOL
