Black Excellence Making History at the Oscars, ET & Library of Congress

Lots of black excellence rising to the top, getting recognized and making history…

Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson became the first black women nominated for hair and makeup Oscars for their work on Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom… we’ll see them win on April 25th!

Nischelle Turner will become the first black woman to anchor Entertainment Tonight with Kevin Frasier… which will give the show a totally chocolatey look now!

Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation, Nas’ Illmatic, Patti Labelle’s Lady Marmalade and Kool & the Gang’s Celebration were among the songs and albums entered into the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry this week… noting them as audio treasures worth of preservation based on their importance to the nation’s heritage.

Congratulations to us!
