Happy 4thof July weekend!
Mayor Lightfoot surprised everybody this week when she announced that the city’s fireworks are back on… you’ll be able to see them along the lakefront from Grand all the way to 55th and they start tonight at 9:30pm.
You can check them out downtown after the Grant Park Music Festival’s annual Independence Day Salute at Pritzker Pavilion at 6:30 tonight.
Navy Pier won’t be hosting their own fireworks display this weekend, but it’s a great spot to catch the city’s fireworks, and they’ve got lost of live music, dancing and entertainment all weekend.
Mr. Dad’s Father’s Club is hosting a Father’s March this afternoon from 1-4pm in Ogden Park at 65th & Racine… it’s a free event with food, live music, fun for the kids and free vaccinations.
And on Sunday, the 4th on 53rd Independence Day Celebration is back from 11am-3pm in Nichols Park and the Rainbow Beach Celebration from 11:30am-10:30pm. Find more info on these celebrations, neighborhood fireworks displays and more at this link from Block Club Chicago.
Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
