Bud is BACK! It’s the return of the Bud Billiken Parade, stepping off at this morning at 10am… the back to school South Side summer classic has a shortened route this year, running from 45th to 55th down King Drive into Washington Park, and the festival will run until 4pm this afternoon.
Check out Firefest in North Lawndale today from noon to 9pm… the free community block party features live music, dance battles, 3-on-3 basketball and more. It all happens at the Firehouse Community Arts Center at 21st and Hamlin.
Tomorrow, head to Michigan Ave by the Old Water Tower to see classic cars and live music and activities at Meet Me on the Mile, a series running thru fall where the merchant association is shutting down portions of the Mag Mile to have some fun in the streets.
& Watch out this evening for the return of the World Naked Bike Ride through Chicago from 6-8pm… you may run into riders wearing little or nothing as they try to call attention to the world’s dependence on oil.
Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
