On this first day of the year, let’s celebrate a few firsts happening in our world:
New York City Councilwoman Adrienne Adams just made history as the first Black woman to become City Council speaker, officially beginning today.
Dawn Ison became the first Black woman U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan… she was sworn in right before Christmas.
and Judge Vanessa Harris has been appointed as the new judge pro tempore of Lafayette City Court by the Louisiana Supreme Court. She’s a two time alum of HBCU Southern University in Baton Rouge.
& Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
