What's Happening This Weekend: House Music, Mexican Independence & More!

The first day of fall is Thursday and tonight is the first night that the sun will set before 7pm… we won’t see another day this long until April! So let’s make this last weekend of summer count!

“Do For Self” hosts their annual fundraiser “A Classic Soul Event” tonight at the South Loop Hotel… performances from the Blue Notes, Delfonics, Intruders and Maxine Jones formerly of En Vogue,  Joe Soto and Crazy Howard are your hosts.

The Chicago House Music Fest continues through tomorrow with shows at Millennium Park and in Kenwood, plus a house music bus tour!

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day all weekend with events in the city and suburbs, including Pilsen Fest today and tomorrow and the big parade tomorrow afternoon along Commercial Avenue on the East Side.

Catch the new play “The Most Spectacularly Lamentable Trial of Miz Martha Washington” that’s now playing at Steppenwolf Theatre in Lincoln Park through October 9th from Pulitzer Prize winning playwright James Ijames.

And the Bears face the Green Bay Packers tomorrow night in Green Bay.

Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
