Martin Lawrence finally got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
The 58-year-old comedian and actor got the long-overdue honor on Thursday, surrounded by family and friends, including Steve Harvey, Tichina Arnold, Tracy Morgan and Lynn Whitfield.
After the ceremony, he was overwhelmed with emotion and said, “I've been crying all week so I figured if I had my glasses on today, maybe y'all won't see the tears… but they're most definitely tears of joy.” And when asked about how long it took, he said “better late than never.”
Martin also took time to talk about his friend and fellow comedian Jamie Foxx during an interview at the ceremony, wishing him the best and calling him one of the best in Hollywood. A recent report in People said Foxx is awake, alert and steadily improving as he continues to receive medical care in a Georgia hospital.
Martin is currently in production on the fourth “Bad Boys” film with Will Smith.
