Community Connect celebrates Mother's Day weekend with freebies for moms and families!
Diamond in the Making Outreach is hosting a Mother’s Day Barbecue today from noon to 5pm at Van Buren and Pulaski to help and honor mothers who’ve had or are having personal struggles with homelessness or addiction and lost their children as a result. Founder Tawana Pope hopes their stories of thriving despite the odds will inspire others to keep trying to turn their lives around.
And the National A. Philip Randolph Pullman Porter Museum hosts their 2nd Annual Health & Wellness Food Festival today from Noon until 6 pm at Gately Stadium, 103rd & Cottage Grove (744 East 103rd Street). It’s a free family event with food, music, live entertainment, 3 on 3 basketball, health and wellness resources and more.
Our community moves forward in the best way possible when we all get the help we need and give the help we can!
