Congrats to award-winning rapper and actor Ludacris (Chris Bridges) who got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday!
He was honored with speeches and tributes from LL Cool J and Vin Diesel, along with a surprise speech from his oldest daughter Karma Bridges. Luda was fighting tears behind his sunglasses while she spoke, later saying, “That blew me away. Usually, it's not easy for people to keep certain things from me, but that was 100 percent a surprise.”
Karma had originally told him she couldn’t make it, then showed up to surprise him. She said in her speech, “The truth is, I wouldn't miss it for the world… from plays to dance recitals to graduation, you have always found a way to be there for me, even if it's a call or a text from miles away.” She ended by saying, “I am so proud of you, Dad. Congratulations to a legend of an artist and a legend of a father.”
Ludacris has a lot going on these days... his new movie “Fast X” hit theaters yesterday, he’s on tour with Janet and will be in Chicago with her next weekend at the Hollywood Casing Amphitheatre in Tinley Park. And it'll be a bit of a homecoming, since he was born in Champaign and moved to Oak Park as a teen.
Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
