Chicago's business community is a little less brighter this week after the loss of one of its stars… Robert J. Dale, co-founder of R.J. Dale Advertising and Public Relations.
The business leader and Chicago native was known as a pioneer, paving the way for our city’s Black entrepreneurs, especially during a time that was not always welcoming or supportive for us.
He founded his ground-breaking firm in 1979 after serving in the U.S. Air Force and receiving his MBA from Stanford University. It was consistently ranked among the top Black ad agencies in the country.
“Bob wanted to be remembered as someone who loved Black folks, and he wanted to make Black business great," said his wife, Cathy Dale.
He passed away last Saturday a month shy of his 81st birthday after a diagnosis of vascular dementia 4 years ago. His wife told Mary Mitchell, columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times that she was so grateful for the help she received from the Alzheimer's Association of Illinois.
& Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
