Superstar NBA champ LeBron James gets to live his dream of playing with his son Bronny and they will make history doing it as the first father-son duo to actively play in the NBA together on the same team.
At a news conference Tuesday, Bronny, who is 19, said he is ready to play with his famous dad for the Lakers, even though that’s not the only reason he entered the draft. He told reporters he is “trying to get my name out for myself.”
It’s already a bit of a miracle since Bronny’s heart attack during basketball practice at USC just a year ago. He was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect but was cleared by the NBA’s Fitness to Play Panel just in time for the draft.
LeBron & Bronny join a rare club of fathers and sons to play in their leagues at the same time and on the same team… the others are Ted and Charlie Nesser (NFL’s Columbus Panhandles, 1921), Gordie, Mark and Marty Howe (NHL’s Hartford Whalers 1979-1980), Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. (MLB's Seattle Mariners, 1990-1991) and Tim Raines Sr. and Tim Raines Jr. (MLB’s Baltimore Orioles, 2001).
& Remember to always celebrate your magic! xo
