Two little girls from Roseland had the best lemonade stand haul ever this week!
Joy and Jade Lee, who are 11 and 12 years old, pulled out their lemonade stand on the hottest day of the year on Tuesday because they’re huge Angel Reese fans and wanted to raise $700 so they could get tickets to see the team play at home for their Barbie Night.
The girls got their love of basketball from their dad and watch all the games but really wanted to see Angel play in person. Their mom was planning to take them until she saw the prices and realized how much the hottest ticket in town was going to set them back.
The girls had done well with their lemonade stand before to raise money for St. Jude, so they asked if they could do it for this. Mom said yes and the stand went back up at 111th & Princeton.
Philanthropist Early Walker from I’m Telling, Don’t Shoot heard about it and decided to give the girls $2000 then surprised the family with an offer to take them to the game in a limo and treat them all to dinner. He said we have to support kids when they do things like this, otherwise they’ll never keep trying.
Agreed my brother! And Jade & Joy, I hope you enjoy the game!
