Our condolences this morning go out to Oprah Winfrey. Her family has confirmed that her mother. Vernita Lee, passed away on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 83. The media mogul has yet to comment on her mother's death, but her niece Alisha Hayes confirmed the news online.
The news was first published by TMZ. Oprah was open throughout the years that her and her mother had an estranged relationship over the years. The two did make amends and Oprah supported her mother and even gave her a makeover on her television show in Chicago.
A funeral has already been held for Vernita.
