Chicago-based Company Manufactures The Emmy Statue

A little bit of Hollywood is right here in the Chi. Chicago based business R.S. Owens & Company is the manufacturer of those beautiful gold statues we see on the Emmys.

The statues are worth about $300-$400 because they are not solid gold. They are pretty heavy though, weighing about the same as a gallon of water. But if the statue was made of solid gold it would be worth about $153,000! Imagine all of the security that would be necessary at show time.

The awards program airs this Sunday on FOX and honors those for excellence in the television industry.
