Federal Agents Will Help With Gun Violence In Chicago

A mass shooting took place in Chicago Tuesday evening outside of a funeral where a man was being memorialized. He was killed in a drive-by shooting last week. More than a dozen people were shot, some are in critical condition.

Where is the respect for people who are mourning the loss of a friend and loved one? The issue with gun violence in Chicago is beyond comprehension. Every day there is a report of shootings, in some instances involving children who have lost their lives to the senseless killings.

President Trump has ordered federal agents to Chicago to help curb some of the violence. But it is so much deeper than just having the feds come in. The problems won't stop, it will just agitate the situation. What needs to be done instead is something we have been saying for years. Why the solution to help solve the problem hasn't been fulfilled, I don't understand.

This city needs long-term solutions. Financial resources are necessary to build recreational centers, mental health facilities and training institutions. Grocery stores are needed and so many other resources that would take too long to name. Until this happens, there may not be any changes in our communities unfortunately.
